[ARCHIVED] MASK REQUIREMENT IN ALL TOWN FACILITIES TAKES EFFECT DECEMBER 20, 2021

Covid19 update

In compliance with the Governor’s most recent Executive Order 21-116 issued on December 15, 2021, the Town of South Kingstown will implement the following COVID-19 safety protocols for all municipal indoor facilities effective December 20, 2021:


1. Indoor customer/public facing municipal buildings with capacity of 250 or more people including the community recreation center:

a. All employees, members of the public, vendors, and other outside parties (i.e. non-employees) shall wear a mask at all times when inside the facility regardless of vaccination status;
b. Signage shall be posted at the entrance of the facility communicating this indoor masking policy.
c. Alternative options for conducting business with Town Departments, such as drop boxes, and telephone/online services will be available to members of the public who prefer not to enter Town facilities and/or wear a mask.

2. Indoor customer/public facing municipal buildings with capacity less than 250 people including town hall, public services facility, wastewater facility, public safety complex, library facilities, neighborhood guild, animal shelter, and similar facilities:

a. All members of the public, vendors, and other outside parties (i.e. non-employees) shall wear a mask at all times when inside the facility regardless of vaccination status;
b. Employees that frequently interact with the public (i.e. customer service clerks or similar) shall wear a mask at all times when inside the facility;
c. All employees shall wear a mask when directly speaking or interacting with the public regardless of their vaccination status.
d. Signage shall be posted at the entrances of all facilities communicating this indoor masking policy.
e. Alternative options for conducting business with Town Departments, such as drop boxes, and telephone/online services will be available to members of the public who prefer not to enter Town facilities and/or wear a mask.
