On Friday, November 5, 2021, from 9 am – 11 am, The South Kingstown Senior Center will partner with The Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) to host a free Moderna COVID-19 booster clinic at The Center located at 25 St. Dominic Road in South Kingstown.
The CDC recommends that the following are eligible for a Moderna COVID-19 booster:
- People age 65 and older and residents in long-term care settings should receive a booster dose of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine at least six months after their second dose of Pfizer;
- People age 50-64 with underlying medical conditions should receive a booster dose of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine at least six months after their second dose of Pfizer;
- People age 18-49 with underlying medical conditions may receive a booster dose of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine at least six months after their second dose of Pfizer;
- People age 18-64 who are at increased risk of COVID-19 exposure and transmission because of occupational or institutional settings may receive a booster dose of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine at least six months after their second dose of Pfizer, based on their individual benefits and risks.
Examples of underlying medical conditions include cancer, chronic kidney, liver and lung diseases, dementia or other neurological conditions, diabetes, heart conditions, HIV, pregnancy, Sickle cell disease, and substance use disorders.
