The 2021 Town-wide State mandated Full Revaluation is currently underway with residential properties being inspected. The revaluation contactor for this project is Vision Government Solutions. The intent of the revaluation is to gauge market conditions that exist for 2021. This revaluation project will be completed in June 2022 and reflected in the July 2022 tax bills. This revaluation project will not affect July 2021 tax bills. Any changes will be reflected in the July 2022 tax bill.
Due to COVID social distancing requirements, no interior property inspections will be requested or attempted. Interior listing data and characteristics of the dwelling are already on record will be used. Exterior measurements of the dwelling will be verified with an onsite visit to the property. All Vision Government Solutions employees will carry photo identification and a letter of introduction from the Town Assessor’s Office. Each Vision Government Solutions employee has had a background check completed by the RI Attorney General’s Office, and the property inspector’s name and vehicle registration information has been provided to the South Kingstown Police Department.
In February 2022, notices will be mailed to property owners of new proposed assessments. Owners wishing to meet with Vision Government Solutions employees to discuss or review new assessments will be able to schedule hearings in March 2022. Detailed property assessment information will be posted on the Town website at that time.
We thank property owners in advance for their cooperation during South Kingstown’s reassessment program. If you have any questions, please call the Town Assessor’s Office at 401-789-9331 x1220. Click here to learn more about the revaluation process.
