The Town of South Kingstown has been advised by the Rhode Island Department of Health that it will be receiving 150 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine, to be provided to senior residents, age 75 and older, on January 31st and February 3rd, at the Regional South Road School distribution site. Under the guidance of the Department of Health, the Town will be using the Rhode Island Special Needs Emergency Registry database to schedule appointments. Residents on the registry
will be contacted via telephone between January 28th and February 2nd to schedule an appointment. Once all residents on the Special Needs Emergency Registry have been immunized, the Town will identify residents over the age of 75, using databases including voter registration, senior housing and senior center membership.
As the Town receives additional doses in the coming weeks, residents 75 and older will be contacted, via telephone, to schedule an appointment. This is a fluid situation and the Town asks for the public’s patience. For more information on the State's Covid-19 vaccine roll-out please visit https://covid.ri.gov/vaccination.

What is the RI Special Needs Emergency Registry?
The RIDOH has provided the following information:
The Rhode Island Special Needs Emergency Registry is a statewide registry designed to improve the identification of individuals who may need additional assistance during a disaster or emergency. The information is stored confidentially and is securely shared with municipal first responders and emergency management officials so they can best plan for and respond to an emergency. While enrolling in the registry does not guarantee assistance, it assists first responders in their response and helps keep individuals on their radar. This registration will not guarantee vaccination prioritization or that you will be contacted any sooner to receive a vaccination within the coming weeks.
Note: For South Kingstown seniors over 75, anyone who was not on the RI Special Needs Emergency registry prior to January 27th, is not guaranteed prioritization for vaccination.
