As we get closer to the potential for snow, we would like to remind residents that the Town has in place an Ordinance (Chapter 16-2) requiring all property owners abutting a sidewalk to clear the sidewalk of snow, or treat it for ice, within 12 hours after the cessation of a snow/ice event.  A link to the Town Ordinance can be found here: Chapter 16-2 - Removal of snow and treatment of ice required

An exemption from the Ordinance is allowed for residents age 62 or older or disabled residents.  More information can be found on the Public Works & Utilities website or by clicking here: Sidewalk Snow Removal.  Additionally, you can call the Department of Public Services at (401) 789-9331, ext. 2250 to help facilitate the process. .
