Commercial septage waste haulers that wish to discharge wastes at the Regional Wastewater Treatment Facility must obtain a septage waste haulers permit from the Town of South Kingstown. Septage waste hauler permits are $200 per year and permit applications are available in the South Kingstown Town Clerk's Office, 180 High Street, Wakefield, RI.
All companies are also required to obtain a septage waste hauler permit from the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management (RIDEM). The new septage hauler applicant must also provide certified truck tank volume and proper vehicle registration to the Wastewater Superintendent, who will inspect the truck to make sure it meets all the requirements of the Town.
Septage haulers must complete a manifest prior to discharging each load that identifies the property owner's name, address and phone number.
