How large is the EMS department?

South Kingstown EMS has one full time director, one part time medical director, 16 full time paramedics, and a select number of part time paramedics.
The EMS department operates from two locations during daytime hours from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Paramedic 1 and 2 are located at the Public Safety Complex on Kingstown Rd., and Paramedic 3 is located at the Public Services building on Commodore Perry Highway. During the hours of 7p.m. and 7 a.m. all EMS units respond from the Public Safety Complex.
The EMS Department also maintains two reserve apparatus for use during maintenance and mechanical failure, or as additional units in times of need, such as impending storms of significance.
