1. Why is my license suspended?

You would have to call the Rhode Island Traffic Tribunal 401-275-2700 to clarify; there could be a number of reasons a suspension order was issued.

2. What if I lost my ticket?

We can provide a copy of a ticket and inform motorist of court date. Motorist should call 401-783-3166, ext. 307 or 324.

3. Can I pay a traffic ticket at the South Kingstown Police Department?

The Police Department cannot accept payment for traffic tickets. Follow instructions given on ticket. Mailing address is:

4. How do I get a record expunged?

Expungements are handled only by the District or Superior courts. Please call 401-782-4131 for more information.

5. What if I'm a victim of a crime and want to know the status of the case?

You can contact the South Kingstown Prosecution Division for information regarding the case or you can also use the Criminal Information Search on the State of Rhode Island Website.

6. What will happen if I miss a court date in District Court?

A warrant will be issued for your arrest. For more information please call the 4th District Court at 401-782-4131.

7. Where can I do community service?

Community service must be done at a nonprofit organization. Examples are:
-Animal Shelters
-Community Shelter
-Fire Departments
-Food banks
-Libraries
-Programs at URhode Island through Dean of Students Office
-Senior Citizen Center
-YMCA
-Youth organizations
