Please Note: the Town Hall remains closed to the public, however voter registration forms and mail ballot applications are available outside the Town Hall; completed forms may be placed in the white drop box at the entrance to the building.
The Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2020. 

Deadline to Apply for a Mail Ballot
The deadline to apply for a Mail Ballot for the Primary Election to be held on September 8, 2020 is August 18, 2020 at 4pm.  Applications can be downloaded from the Voter Information Center (link above), and copies are available in outdoor boxes at the entrances to the Town Hall, 180 High Street and the Peace Dale Library, 1057 Kingstown Road. Emergency Voting and Emergency Mail Ballot Applications will be available beginning on August 19th for those electors who cannot go vote at the polls on election day. Emergency ballots must be voted by 4 pm on September 8th.

Voting Districts have been combined for this election. The Community Recreation Center, 30 St. Dominic Road, Wakefield will be the polling location for District 1 (multi-purpose room), Districts 2 and 3 (gymnasium #1), and Districts 4 and 5 (gymnasium #2). Districts 6, 7 and 8 will vote at the West Kingston Elementary School, 3119 Ministerial Road. Districts 9 (cafeteria) and 10 (all-purpose room) will vote at the Matunuck Elementary School, 380 Matunuck Beach Road.

The polls will be open from 7am to 8pm and a photo ID is required. A mask or other face covering will be required to enter the polling places, and social distancing measures will be in place.

Deadline to Register to Vote & Make Voter Information Changes

Sunday, August 9, 2020 is the last date to register to vote for the Primary Election to be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2020.   The Board of Canvassers has made voter registration forms available in outdoor boxes at the entrances to the Town Hall, 180 High Street, Wakefield, the Peace Dale Library, 1057 Kingstown Road, Peace Dale, the Beverly Hale Library, 2601 Commodore Perry Highway, Matunuck, and the Kingston Free Library, 2605 Kingstown Road, Kingston.  Completed forms can be placed in the drop box at Town Hall no later than Sunday, August 9, 2020 at 4:00 P.M. Voter Registration is also available online at .  Anyone who will reach the age of eighteen (18) on or before September 8, 2020 may register by August 9, 2020 to be eligible to vote at the Primary. Those who have changed their name and wish to update their voting records must re-register by August 9, 2020. Anyone who has moved within the Town must also re-register to correct their address. Tuesday, August 11, 2020 is the last date to change your party affiliation. Completed forms can be placed in the drop box at Town Hall no later than Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at 4:00 PM.
