Construction of the South Kingstown Community Recreation Center began in March 2016. Since the official groundbreaking ceremony, Ahlborg Construction Corp. has been working on site daily. The Building exterior is 95% complete. Crews are busy installing electrical, drywall, athletic equipment, HVAC, windows, plumbing, and flooring. As we enter the final phase of construction, anticipation is building!
Prior to the facility opening, the Parks and Recreation Department will distribute a brochure about the Recreation Center, along with a Q&A that will answer questions like "what programs will be offered?", "when will the building be available for drop-in use?", "how can I rent a room?" and many other FAQ's.
We can't wait to see the final product and put it to good use for the benefit of the entire community. Stay tuned for details on the grand opening this spring!
The Community Recreation Center Facility will consist of the following elements:
Multi-court gymnasium for sports and athletic programming
Two (2) multi-use rooms for existing exercise classes & meeting spaces
